Is Keanu going to be Plastic Man?

Trust me surfers, my first thought was probably the same as yours.  WHAT THE CRAP?!  This just seems ridiculous to me.  

The guys over at CHUD received some info that Joel Silver was on a radio show in Germany talking about Ninja Assassin.  In the midst of the interview Silver let it slip that the Bothers Wachowski would be directing the movie "Plastic Man".  

Apparently the Wachowskis wrote a Plastic Man script before they started on The Matrix.  This is very interesting.  Silver was also heard saying that the movie would be released by the end of 2009.  I don't know about you, but that sounds like a very tight filming schedule, even if you were to start filming today.

This is where the story gets better, Silver claims that Keanu Reeves is set to play the role of Eels O'Brien (Plastic Man).  In fact he (Silver) said that the brothers Wachowski want Keanu to be in all of their future projects.

Now please, this is just rumor and speculation.  There is nothing solid about this yet.  But that is what I am here for.  I will stay on this story until we find out what is going on.  Until then, this is what I think. I am a huge fan of the super hero genre of the film industry.  I try to support the idea of every hero getting his own film.  But come on now, Plastic Man?  There are so many heros that deserve this more. Gambit, as an example, would have a great solo movie if given the chance.  I could go on, but we would be here for a while.  

The problem that I am having is that the Wachowskis know what they are doing.  They know how to bring us into a film and not let us go. This is the conflict that I am experiencing at the moment.  I need some perspective.  I would appreciate to know what you surfers think.  Let me know what you feel about this project and what Heros deserve their own movies.  Until then.
