Harry Potter movie wont be released until July 17th 2009

Ah man! That sucks! That was a movie I was really looking forward to watching this year. Its really only next big movie coming out this year. Well, Warner Bros have decided to move the opening date of the film for November 11th to July 17th 2009. That is a long ass time to wait. Why are they pushing the release date back? WB President Alan Horn says:

"Like every other studio, we are still feeling the repercussions of the writers strike, which impacted the readiness of scripts for other films-changing the competitive landscape for 2009 and offering new windows of opportunity that we wanted to take advantage of," he said. "We agreed the best strategy was to move 'Half-Blood Prince' to July, where it perfectly fills the gap for a major tent pole release for mid-summer."

Dude. Common. Whether you release it in November or July the movie is still going to make the same amount of massive money so what the hell? Oh well. The studio still plans to release the two-movie adaptation of the final book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows," as planned, with the first part still on for November 19, 2009. So if you look on the bright side of life you get 2 Harry Potter Movies in the same year.

I don't know why but I hate that they refer to these big movie as "Tent Pole" films. I know what it means but tent pole? Its just not an exciting word fora big movie
