Alex Proyas wants to make 'Dracula: Year Zero' Realistic

by Joey Paur

The thing to do in Hollywood these days is to make movies that are unrelistic MORE Realistic. Alex Proyas the director of 'Dark City' recently talked to MTV about his next film 'Dracula: Year Zero' here is what he had to say:

"Dracula: Year Zero, is sort of the origin tale that mixes [the historical] Prince Vlad of Transylvania with sort of [fictionalized] Bram Stoker [take]"

So as in more realistic he means he is going to bring in the REAL legend of Vlad and mix it with the FAKE Version of Bram Stoker. So will Dracular sport the unrealist teeth?

"Oh, you've got to have teeth," Proyas exclaimed. "I mean, the teeth are really important. I think Frank Langella in the ‘Dracula' movie that was made in the 70s, I think he didn't want to have teeth in the movie. But, no, I like the teeth. I want to see girls with a lot of teeth."

So the girls are going to have lots of teeth? Like shark teeth? because sharks have a great deal of teeth. So teeth are in what about garlic?

"I think the garlic thing is kind of weird," Proyas laughed.

So garlic is out. Now garlic is real, but it smells so it iskind of wierd that Dracula wouldn't like garlic. But here is the question we have all been waiting for. Will Dracula turn into a Bat?

Well...Proyas wouldn't say.

So what types of Dracula mythology will make it into the movie?

"Stakes and teeth," the director smiled. "And we're lots and lots of blood!"

'Dracula: Year Zero' is going to be a realistic tale of Dracula with Teeth, Stakes, and Lots of blood. I guess that about sums it up.

I think the guy is a incredibly talented director, I mean look at what he did with 'Dark City'. I am sure there is more to the movie than what he has said. Once he starts to really work on itI am sure it will end up being a great movie about Dracula. What do you think?

Proyas next film is 'Knowing' with Nicholas Cage. It'll be interesting to see how that turns out.
