Rob Cohen is talking about a Fourth Mummy movie

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor - Actor Brendan Fraser & Director Rob Cohen

Well, you all know how much I enjoyed the last Mummy movie. I'm not the only critic that felt that way about the film so it wasn't just me. Here is the thing. I liked the idea! But it was just executed poorly. Now with this talk of a fourth Mummy film after reading this article over at MTV, I like the idea but now I know for a fact the movie is going to be just as bad as this last one, because the same creative people are involved.  So here is the plan for Mummy 4.

Rick O'Connel played by Brendan Fraiser will be an immortal hero up against an immortal villian. Rob Cohen says:

'Rick, because he was treated by the pool of eternal life, Rick is now immortal. I'd love to explore how that plays out for him," Cohen said. "Another spoiler, Jonathan [John Hannah] winds up with the artifact in this film and he doesn't realize, nor do we, what its powers are. In my mind, that artifact still has a lot of prizes in it, the eye of Shangri La, this big diamond."

Ok its not a bad idea. Where would the movie take place? Cohen says:

"What I'm really happy about is that, by taking ‘The Mummy' out of Egypt and putting it in China, by exploring a different approach to the quest for immortality, we now have it clear that the ‘Mummy' franchise can travel," he said. "Now we know that if we want to go to Mexico or we want to go to Peru, we can because there's a cultural truth there of the mummies and these beautiful cultures.

They have a lot of mummies. The Aztec culture had a lot of mummies and some of their mummy designs for the Foundation Army were taken from Mexican mummies that they have found," he added. "So I think that somehow that might make the basis of a good story."

So south America would be the next stop on the map. Another great idea, because there are tons of legends and amazing settings to work with! This could be a great movie! Just like The Mummy 3 could have been a great movie! But it just isn't mean't to be. With Rob Cohen on the directing chair we are sure to get another POS Mummy film. Its sucks, because it could be a pretty amazing movie! Cohen says it might make the basis of a good story theis is funny because he obviously dosen't know how to put a good story together.
