Why Would Stephen Colbert Host a Musical Christmas Special?

by thedude

Because he can damnit! The witty host of "The Colbert Report" once again proves that he can do and say whatever the hell he wants, and undoubtedly still be cool.

"A Clobert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All!" will air on November the 23rd as a one hour musical extraviganza on Comedy Central. The "story" will be centered around Colbert snowed in in his upstate New York cabin. Guests will include John Legend, Elvis Costello, Toby Keith, Willie Nelson, Feist, and of course, "The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart, who will sing a duet with Colbert titled "Hanukkah".

All original songs will be co-written by "Daily Show" Exec Producer David Javerbaum and Fountains of Wayne's bassist Adam Schlesinger.

This won't be the first time Stevie has showcased his vocal skills to the world, check out this short clip of him rocking the national anthem with Steve Carell:

A DVD of the Bash will be released on November 25. A portion of the proceeds will of course go to charity. Check it out
