Terminator 4 Vs. Transformers 2: Battle of the Directors

by Joey Paur

I don't know if you have seen this or not, but here has been a war of words between two directors each one directing a big budget movie about robots. Michael Bay is obviously directing mega hit 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen', while McG is directing 'Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins'. Personally I think both movie are going to be fun to watch and each one will have their strengths and weaknesses. I honestly think Terminator is going to have a better story, script, and acting, and that Transformers is just going to be over the top action, great special effects and eye candy galore. I find it funny and juvenile that Micheal Bay lashes out against McG's Terminator Salvation to help market his own movie, that is already going to make a butt load of cash. Here is what he had to say:

"Okay it's time to turn up the heat on "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." We've waited low in the weeds letting all the summer movies get their stuff out... We've seen the great year end movies, and watched the upcoming clips of the upcoming summer fare. We've seen certain movies coming out even trying to duplicate "Transformer" size robots in their ads. Please, come on."

Come on, Michael Bay are you really that desperate for attention? Please. McG fires back at him by saying:

“It bothers me to tell you the truth. Ultimately, our large robots have nothing to do with the "Transformers" robots, I say with respect, giant robots have been the theme of film for a real long time . So we want to do everything we can to create separation, Our film's about T-800s and the Marcus character and the Connor character, and this, that, and the other. So, to have people have a problem with that wouldn't be working for us so we want to make sure there's separation."

He shouldn't let it bother him. Bay's words are as empty as the stories he tells surrounded by bad ass action to hide the fact that the movie would be really quite awful without it. In the end these guys just need to hug it out.
