Hilary Duff set to play Bonnie in 'Bonnie and Clyde' Movie

Whaaaaaaaaa? Is that weird casting or what? It seems weird. But it is true, Hilary Duff will star in a indie film titled 'The Story of Bonnie and Clyde'.  Hilary Duff is not really a good actress at all. She is fine for the Disney channel but anything beyond those type of cheesy teenie bopper films, I just don't see what the appeal is. She was awful in the film 'War Inc'. Kevin Zegers from the movie 'Zoom' has been cast to play Clyde. This casting proves they are going for a high school audience. It's like High School Musical: Bonnie and Clyde. Variety reports:

Tonya S. Holly will direct the film from her own script, which is a new adaptation of the story of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow rather than a remake of the 1967 classic film starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty. Holly began working on the project after reading old newspaper articles about the gangster pair in an abandoned house on her family's property.

"The Story of Bonnie and Clyde" is set to lense in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Natalie Canerday and Rance Howard will also star.

Since this is a historical event that actually happened it is one of those stories that can be told several different ways. The story of Bonnie and Clyde has only been made a handful of times, but the only one people remember is the 1967 classic. It is just extremely hard to top the Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty version. I think it is safe to say that with the casting they are going with, this will be yet another Bonnie and Clyde film that wont be worth remembering.

Personally I think there is still a really amazing story to be told in the history of Bonnie and Clyde, but this one is obviously not it.
