FRANKENWEENIE producer says Burton's feature remake may be in 3D

We've been keeping you kind folks up to date on all the details coming out on Tim Burton's full-feature stop-motion remake of his 1984 live-action short Frankenweenie. Last month producer Don Hahn revealed that the film would be in stop-motion and said that they would keep the black and white 1950's b-movie aesthetic.

But ComingSoon recently spoke with another Frankenweenie producer Allison Abbate, who produced Burton's previous stop-motion film The Corpse Bride, and she said only that "it is possible" that it will be in b&w... BUMMER! But she did add that they may also go the 3-D route, like Burton is doing with Alice in Wonderland. So only speculation at this point.

She was able to confirm that the film will take around two years to complete, and will be shot in London. The Corpse Bride animation and the forthcoming Wes Anderson stop-motion film, Fantastic Mr. Fox, which Abbate also produced were both shot at Three Mills Studios in London's east end. But it you saw the behind the scenes footage at the Three Mills we posted up on Fantastic Mr. Fox, you know how easy it'll be for Burton to direct from anywhere in the world.

I love that they're going stop-motion with the feature-length remake. I hope they go with b&w. However I'm a tad bit worrisome about the 3D aspect, as the 3D shots we've seen in the Alice In Wonderland trailer look gimmicky. If I was a betting man, I would say they will go 3D.
