We have reported on the news that The Green Lantern film Production might be moving out of Australia a couple times now, but now it it 100% official.  On Friday the Australian dollar hit a 27-year high against the U.S. dollar, closing at 95 cents, a 30% decrease in value for the greenback since the shoot was announced six months ago, and which would reportedly add over $20 million in cost to the production. The Aussie dollar is being tipped by analysts to reach parity with the U.S. dollar in the coming weeks and could go as high as AUS$1.10 next year.

Sorry Austrailia, but The Green Lantern film production will now either go to Mexico or Canada. This isn't good for the entertainment industry in Austraila. This means people lose out on jobs and money. Where the Wild Things Are, was filmed in Australia, and as of right now the only other big budget offshore film's being made there is Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and animated films,  Guardians of Ga’Hoole and Happy Feet 2.
