Laura Dern will meet and teach the LITTLE FOCKERS

Another beautiful lady has joined the cast of the latest sequel to Meet The Parents tentatively titled Little Fockers.

Golden-Globe winner Laura Dern(HBO's Recount, Jurassic Park) joins the recently cast Jessica Alba, in the Paul Weitz helmed film.

Little Fockers reunites most of the main cast from the first two films, with Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, Robert De Niro, Blythe Danner and Owen Wilson confirmed to reprise their roles.

Dern's casting confirms rumors(and what the title suggests) that Stiller and Polo's characters Gaylord Focker and Pamela Byrnes gave birth to twins, as THR reports that Dern will play the headmistress of the elementary school that the Fockers' kids attend. So the film won't pickup right where Meet The Fockers(2004) left off, but rather true to the time between the films, some 5 or 6 years later.

Weitz's frequent collabs Jane Rosenthal and Jay Roach are producing the film, scripted by Larry Stuckey and recently rewritten by John Hamburg, who wrote the first two films and directed and wrote this year's I Love You Man. Production will begin in the next few months, with an aim for a 2010 release.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what direction Weitz can take this franchise. He's directed a wide (some might say odd) array of films. He made his debut with the teen comedy American Pie, but showcased his emotional depth with feel good films like About A Boy and In Good Company. We'll see how his Vampire's Assistant film turns out, but it's looking a tad silly.

Laura Dern is consistently brilliant. She can bring the goods even in small roles, like she did in I Am Sam. The Golden Globe win for Recount was well deserved. In fact, HBO recently made a deal with the her to star in a pilot to be penned, produced and directed by School Of Rock and Nacho Libre scribe Mike White.

What do you think of Laura Dern joining the cast of Little Fockers?
