Warner Bros. is currently developing a supernatural action comedy called, Monster Squad. The movie was originally called Nightcrawlers. I'm not sure why they decided to change the title to Monster Squad. It has nothing to do with the original 1987 classic film of basically the same name. If you want to get into the little details, the 1987 film is title, THE Monster Squad, this new film is simply Monster Squad, but there's still no doubt it will confuse a lot people.

Mike Mitchell has been brought on board to direct the film, that Warner Bros. picked up as a spec script from Brian Lynch in 2000, originally titled Nightcrawlers. Mitchell has directed films such as, Sky High, Surviving Christmas, and most recently Shrek Forever After. The project went through numerous writers, including Michael Arndt and Audrey Wells, as Warners sought to find a balance of laughs and chills. Brad Copeland wrote the most current script.

Monster Squad  is going to be a high-concept, big-budget, supernatural fantasy, and it starts shooting late 2010.
