Joe Queseda Gives a Brief Update on CAPTAIN AMERICA Script

Hey Gang! I know we're all excited for Marvel's The First Avenger: Captain America film. Yesterday I let you know that a script for the film has been turned in, and Marvel editor in chief Joe Queseda gives a little update on the screenplay.

I've seen a couple of outlines and an initial screenplay, and it's going to rock everyone's socks off. It's very unexpected, the kind of movie it is.

He added that Captain America sets up The Avengers in "a fantastic way" and also mentioned that there is an undisclosed wish list of actors to play the superhero. Well, we can all hope to hell it does blow our socks off. It's always a good thing to have your socks blown off, unless your feet really stink.

As for there wish list of actors, I really wish I could see who they have in mind. I've heard they want to go more main stream, which I hope isn't the case. The reason for the mainstream actor is to help market the movie better to other non American countries. They have also said that the Captain will be played by an American, which makes sense.

Paramount and Marvel Studios are planning a July 22, 2011 release date for the Joe Johnston-directed Captain America.

Who would you like to see play Captain America?
