Ridley Scott looking to put Jolie & Dicaprio in GUCCI

No, these aren't clothing ads they're doing, this is yet another glimpse into the busy world of director Ridley Scott!

Scott is in talks with Angelina Jolie to take on the role of real life femme fatale Patrizia Reggiano, in Gucci, a drama that explores the murder and decadence in the Gucci fashion dynasty.

Reggiano was sentenced to 29 years in jail for plotting the murder of her ex-husband, Maurizio Gucci.

The film will center on the glamorous days of the Gucci family dynasty in the 1970s and '80s, when the family was selling $500 million in product annually. Squabbles hobbled the clan until Maurizio, the grandson of founder Guccio Gucci, came out on top of a power struggle to run the family business. Just when he was about to reestablish the brand name by debuting a line designed by newcomer -- and now film director -- Tom Ford, Maurizio was gunned down in front of his Milan apartment in 1995.

The studio is hiring a scribe to rewrite the drama, as the events are still moving pieces in the film, with Scott still looking to lock down an actor to play Maurizio. He his eyes set on his Body of Lies star Leonardo DiCaprio, but he is not officially attached yet.

Fox 2000's Elizabeth Gabler and Carla Hacken are gearing up Gucci for a 2010 start date, with Scott Free and Giannina Facio producing.

Jolie is likely to next star opposite Sam Worthington in the Spyglass thriller The Tourist. But her involvement hinges on whether or not the studio can finalize a deal with german helmer Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck.

Scott is finishing up post-production on his take on Robin Hood, starring Russell Crowe.
