is Viral Klingon Propaganda early marketing for STAR TREK Sequel?
An animated Klingon propaganda film has gone viral on the good old internet. Could this be an early marketing campaign for J.J. Abrams' sequel to his highly-successful reboot of the Star Trek franchise? Or is this merely a fan made tribute made by a hardcore fan quite fluent in Klingon? My senses say the latter. That isn't to say the quality of the video isn't good, it is! But I highly doubt they're laying the groundwork this early. Maybe they're testing the waters though.
But the propaganda film is only part of a more elaborate effort, official or not. In the closing frames of the video, Klingon letters spell out what appear to be a website. And thanks to the obscure linguistics of the guys at TrekMovie, the english translation is http://www.tlhingan.org/
The address leads to a website with an aesthetically Klingon interface. The site reveals that the flash animation was done by Bad Monkey Studios, the guys who brought us the Don't Deport Me Scotty parody.
