So What if Clancy Brown Played LOBO?

We reported back in September that Guy Ritchie was attached to direct the live-action comicbook adaptation of Lobo. We've all made some suggestions as to who we would like to see play the big blue anti-hero, but now there is a solid rumor out there that actor Clancy Brown may end up playing the character! I don't know why I didn't think of him before, but he is perfect for the part!

According to a source close to the production, Clancy Brown is a name that has frequently come up in meetings. This makes just as much sense to me as Ron Perlman playing Hellboy. Brown is best known for playing The Krugan in Highlander, as well as for his roles in The Shawshank Redemption, Pathfinder, Starship Troopers, ER, and as Brother Justin Crowe in Carnivale. And he does tons of cartoon voice work, most recently he did the voice of Lex Luthor in Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, Justice League, Superman, and The Batman. He will next be seen in the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street.

The film, which is about an intergalactic bounty hunter, will feature a good amount of CGI(whether the guy playing Lobo is in a suit or not). The character doesn't need to be a big well known actor as long as the character is done right, and I think Brown has what it takes to bring Lobo to life. The filmmakers need to cast him, it's a big mistake if they don't. In fact, now that the name is out there, I can't see anyone else doing it. I'm sold on Brown, how about you?
