Why Battlestar Galactica Kicks Star Wars' Ass

Picture 1

I'm surprised someone actually pitted Battlestar Galactica against Star Wars. Each one of them have a pretty heavy fan base. But chances are, the same people that liked Battlestar also liked Star Wars. I'm a huge fan of both, and I think they both kick ass in their own respect. But for discussion sake, I thought I would share with you an article from the Houston Press, which has come up with five reasons why Battlestar Galactica kicks Star Wars' ass.

The reasons that were given are:

5) Nuclear fission exists in the BSG universe

4) The Colonists had a better democracy

3) BSG's women aren't just pretty princesses

2) There is no Battlestar Galactica Holiday Special (see below)

... and the No. 1 reason:

1) Cylons Occasionally Hit What They're Aiming At

And they're robots. Not only were the colonial refugees in actual danger of dying every time they were attacked, the Cylons' armor actually -- you know -- deflected gunfire. Imperial stormtroopers couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat, and their armor failed to even prevent diminutive teddy bear creatures from beating them to death with sticks in Return of the Jedi.

Okay, so they make a pretty good argument. But now it's the Star Wars fans turn to fire back. As awesome of a show Battlestar was, what are your top 5 reasons that Star Wars kicks Battlestar Galactica's ass!?

5) Battlestar didn't have lightsabers.

4) Battlestar didn't have awesome bounty hunters like Boba Fett.

3) Battlestar didn't have The Force.

2) There were no deathstar explosions in Battlestar.

1) There were no floating torture balls of death in Battlestar.

They did have one thing in common though. They both had dead people helping them out.

Here is a fun video of a battle between Battlestar Galactica ships fighting against Star Wars ships.

So do you care to add to the list of why Battlestar kicks Star Wars' ass? Or do you want to lash out and give a list of why Star Wars kicks Battlestar's ass?
