Stellan Skarsgård Cast in THOR

The film production of Marvels Thor is still rolling forward. It's been awhile since we have talked about Thor, but it looks like a new actor has joined the production. Stellan Skarsgård has revealed that he will have a role in Thor.There is still very little information about the film and what the story will be like, and Skarsgård didn't reveal who he would play in the movie. In an interview with a Swedish site called Ystads Allehanda, he said:

They wanted me to sign without reading the script. That I refused to do. Then they sent one to me that was so coded that I could only print one copy.

That's crazy! You would think that the studio would understand that an actor would like to know what he was getting himself into before signing. Then they pretty much sent him a copy that would self destruct when he was done. He must have like what he read because he's doing it. It wasn't to long ago that Skarsgår's son Alexander Skarsgård was in talks to actually play the lead role of Thor himself.

There are so many characters in the Thor universe I'm not sure who Skarsgård would play. He's a great actor, so I think it's safe to say he has a decent size role.

The epic adventure spans the Marvel Universe; from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

So far the cast consists of Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Lokie), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), Jaimie Alexander (Sif) , Colm Feore (Secret Villain), Brian Blessed (Odin) and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury).

Thor comes out May 20th 2011 and I can't wait to see what Kenneth Branagh has in story for us! Who do you think Stellan Skarsgård will play?
