GRAVEL Comicbook Series Headed to the Big Screen

Legendary Pictures has acquired the rights to the comicbook series Gravel, which was created by the great Warren Ellis in 1999. The story revolves around a British combat magician named William Gravel.  Gravel is a soldier for the S.A.S. and uses his dark magic skills to moonlight and battle supernatural creatures to make some extra cash on the side.

The great thing about this film project is that Warren Ellis himself will write the screenplay, he will also serve as an executive producer on the film. So I'm sure he will steer the movie production in the right directions. Ellis had this to say:

Every time the weird bastard steps into the daylight, people come out to see what he's up to for some reason. It's funny how a character created for a single story, Strange Kiss, has hung around. I'm creating a whole new mythology and Occult Cosmology for Gravel, the series. And also having some fun with The Sigsand Manuscript, the preferred Ancient Occult Text of Thomas Carnacki, the supernatural detective created by William Hope Hodgson.

With Legendary Picture and Ellis on the film I have high hopes that this is going to get a great film adaptation. Share your thoughts in the rant back section below!
