Len Wiseman to direct yet another Post-Apocalyptic film, NOCTURNE

FOX is getting into the post apocalyptic world of movie making. They recently bought an untitled pitch with the working title Nocturn, about the end of the world. A pitch, they don't even have a script. The project is based on an original idea about a group of people who survive the end of the world and the mystery surrounding how they got to that position. Yeah that pretty much sounds like every other end of the world film ever made.

The studio has brought in director Len Wiseman to direct and produce the project. They are also currently looking for writers to pen the screenplay. Wisemen directed, Live Free Die Hard and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. He is also attached to direct the Gears of War video game adaptation, which seems to be alive and well. Producer Wyck Godfrey recently said the film is close to production.

It's moving along, Video games are hard because they don't have a story usually. They have a concept and a world, and you really have to create the story, so that's been the thing we've been working on. We'll get there.

But, back to the end of the world movie, I just can't get pumped up about it. End of the world films just aren't cool anymore. Roland Emmerich ruined them for me. However I absolutely loved The Road, because unlike most end of the world movies, this actually had a great story, and amazing acting.
