How the Original STAR WARS Computer Graphics Were Done
Today I was sent a great little behind the scenes video of how the computer graphics were done in the original 1977 Star Wars film. It's incredible to see how far we've come with computer technology. When I watched this Making Of video, I was amazed with what these guys had to work with and what they were able to accomplish. The technology just seems ancient.
(1977) The computer graphics for the first STAR WARS film was created by Larry Cuba in the 1970s at the Electronic Visualization Laboratory (EVL) (at the time known as the Circle Graphics Habitat) at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
I find these type of old school behind the scene videos much more interesting than the modern day stuff.
