CYCLER - A Story about a Girl that literally becomes a Boy 4 days a month
Now here's a crazy story for you! Once upon a time there was a a suburban teenager named Jill, who for four days each month turns into Jack, a 17 year old boy with the complete male anatomy and the fantasies of a teenage boy. Jill has maintained her life of ordinary teenage worries, such as going to the prom and dealing with crush's, but that changes when Jack, tired of being locked in his room, begins to escape, causing damage to her social life.
This story is based on the Lauren McLaughlin's young-adult novel Cycler, which is being adapted into a film by Don Murphy and Susan Montford's Angryfilms who optioned the book series.
Random House for Young Readers published the book last year and followed it with a sequel, Re-Cycler; more are on the way. The books have won praise for their unique handling of teen sexuality.
Apparently McLaughlin worked for several years as an executive at Lionsgate before becoming a writer. Oh, and she's already has adapted the book into a screenplay.
I'm not sure what to think of this story. It's definitely a different a concept and very weird, so it could be good.
What do you think about it?
