The Best Look so far at Jackie Earl Haley as Freddy Krueger!

Here is the clearest look we've gotten at Jackie Earl Haley as Freddy Krueger in Platinum Dunes remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Below is the Freddy figure from NECA's recently re-acquired New Line horror line, which includes the new Freddy, as well as the original Freddy to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Elm Street franchise.

I was extremely reluctant to get on board the Nightmare on Elm Street reboot when it was first announced. But everything we've seen from the Samuel Bayer-directed film looks darker, grittier, scarier, and much more realistic -- especially in terms of the look of Freddy, who's face is more realistically burnt and scarred. Up until this point  his face has been half or completely hidden by shadows in the pictures, posters, and trailer. But this extremely detailed figurine clearly shows the great design and work put into bringing the character back in a bigger and scarier way.

One of his eyes is clearly damaged, and his nose is so burnt that it almost looks feline. The muscle underneath will be CGI in the film, much like what they did with Two Face in the Dark Knight. You can also tell how much shorter Haley is than Robert Englund.

A Nightmare on Elm Street hits theaters April 30th.

Check out the figure and let us know what you think of the new character design for Freddy Krueger!
