THE GOON Movie Update - Script Finished and Waiting for Fincher

The Goon comic film adaptation is still in the process of finding its way to the big screen. Slowly but surley it will happen. They have made some progress though! We've seen some great CGI concept art and Clancy Brown and Paul Giamatti have both been confirmed to lend their voices to the main characters. Now we have confirmation that the script is done! Goon creator Eric Powell recently finished a draft for director/producer David Fincher.

I just finished writing the script a few months back, and Blur is working on a lot of test stuff. Fincher is working on a film right now, so we're waiting for him to get some space so we can start showing some of this stuff off. I'm pretty happy with everything so far. We've just got to work to get to the next point. This is a slow, long process.

The story is about the adventures of the Goon, a muscle-bound brawler who claims to be the primary enforcer for the feared mobster Labrazio. The Goon (and his sidekick Franky) often get tied up in other machinations, often in relation to the evil zombie gangs under the command of the Nameless Zombie Priest.

I'm looking forward to seeing this comic book come to life. I love the style and charcters in the story, and I think it will make for a great film.

Are you a fan of THE GOON? If so, what do you thank about everything you've seen and heard about it so far?
