Second trailer for YOUTH IN REVOLT

Here's the second feature trailer for the Miguel Arteta(The Good Girl) directed big-screen adaptation of C.D. Payne’s Youth In Revolt. The dark comedy is based on Payne's first book in his series of best-selling satirical novels starring Nick Twisp, a sexually charged teenage boy whose intelligence and hormones get him into all sorts of adventures.

Youth in Revolt stars Michael Cera(Superbad/Arrested Development) as Twisp, a unique, but affable teen with a taste for the finer things in life like Sinatra and Fellini who falls hopelessly in love with the beautiful, free-spirited Sheeni Saunders, played by newcomer Portia Doubleday, while on vacation with his mom(Jean Smart) and her boyfriend, played by Zach Galifianakis(The Hangover).

Venkman and I saw caught Youth In Revolt a couple of weeks ago and absolutely loved it! The big thing that puzzles us about the First Trailer and this new one, is the misleading way they set up the plot of the film. It's advertised as a boy trying to be "bad" to win over the girl. That story has been done to death, and I'm glad to say that's not the plot of this film. Nick already has the girl! You see glimpses of it in the trailer as well, that's stuff isn't at the end, it's pretty close to the beginning. He creates his blue eyed alter ego Francois, who will stop at nothing to be with Sheeni, and leads Nick Twisp on a path of destruction with unpredictable and uproarious consequences.

The new trailer features more of the wonderful ensemble cast, which includes Ray LiottaFred WillardJustin LongSteve Buscemi and Cera's Nick and Norah co-stars Jonathan B. Wright and Ari Graynor. The only one missing this time around is Adhir Kaylan, who despite having Paul Blart Mall Cop on his resume, is one of the best parts of the film.
