Could you imagine what Return of the Jedi would have been like had David Lynch directed the movie!?

You may have heard a little bit of Star Wars trivia that Eraserhead and Mulholland Drive director David Lynch was offered to take on the directing duties for Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, but he turned down the offer. For the first time David Lynch talks about the meeting he had with George Lucas and why he turned down the the offer.

It a pretty humorous story especially when he talks about what it was like seeing a Wookie for the first time and why Lucas shouldn't be driving around in a Ferrari.

Here are a couple things he said:

I had next door to zero interest. I could hardly wait to get home.

George is kinda short, and so ... his seat was way back, and he was almost lying down in the car, and we were flying through this little town in Northern California.

Watch Lynch as he talks about it in the video below.
