Ray Stevenson who you  know from Rome and Punisher: War Zone, recently did an interview with Empire about who he will pull off playing the biggest of the Warriors Three in the new Thor movie, Volstagg the Valiant.

He will be plying the roll in a fat suit, but not that fat. Stevenson explains:

It's fantastic. I've tried the suit on, and what they've done is kind of sex him up: he's sort of slimmer but rounder.

Well, if he is putting on a fat suit then he's probably going to be fat right? I guess not as fat as he has been portrayed in the comics. Not sure how that sex's him up though. He goes on to explain the character's appearance a bit more:

He's got every bit of that Falstaffian verve and vigour, and a bit of a beergut to suggest that enormous appetite, but he's not the sort of Weeble-shaped figure he is in the comics. He's Falstaff with muscles. I've got this amazing foam-injected undersuit that flexes with me. I can't wait!

Ok, so he is going to be wearing a fat muscle suit or just a little beer belly fat suit? I can envision what he is talking about and I can see that working. I'm not upset about it or anything, as long as they didn't change up the character's personality it should end up working for the film. I guess they just thought the audience didn't want to see him as big overweight fat guy in the movie so they made him more fit.

What do you think about Marvel Slimming down Volstagg for the movie?
