Frank Miller's 300 Prequel Gets A Name

Geoff Boucher over at The L.A. Times Hero Complex wrote a great profile piece on the Greek Mythology-inspired films coming out soon, most notably Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief and Clash of the Titans. Also buried in that story are some more details about Frank Miller's upcoming comic prequel to 300.

Miller is preparing a follow-up now titled “Xerxes,” which begins about 10 years before the events of “300,” and Snyder has expressed interest in it as a film property as well. “It’s the battle of Marathon through my lens,” Miller said Wednesday. “I’ve finished the plot and I’m getting started on the artwork.”

Not much to sink our teeth into, since we've known most of this information for a while. But it's good to hear the project is still moving forward on Miller's end. This may seem like a small step, but ask potential fans of Miller's long-promised "Holy Terror, Batman!": sometimes things don't work out as smoothly as anticipated. Also refreshing is the continued confirmation of Zack Snyder's interest - I think he'll have to return to another big money maker after the mainstream failure of Watchmen and the sure-to-be-polarizing Sucker Punch.
