So Johnny Depp will be in Terry Gilliam's THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUIXOTE

Terry Gilliam is currently in the process of starting up his new film production of The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. We recently reported that Robert Duvall will play Don Quixote in the film. The first time this film tried to get off the ground, the role was played by Jean Rochefort, and Johnny Depp was cast as the original time-traveling character in the story that meets up with Quixote.

Depp has come out and said he wouldn't be able to come back to the role due to his crazy movie schedule. As you know Depp has been cast in.... well... pretty much, everything. He didn't want Gilliam to have to wait for his schedule to open up. Gilliam apparently isn't happy about the films that Depp has been starring in. in a recent interview he said regarding Depp:

Come on. You’ve got the power to make some really good films happen. Why are you doing this shit?

In another interview with Paste Gilliam was asked if Johnny Depp was going to be in the movie, his reply:

Yeah, and I rewrote the script. Robert Duvall has agreed to play Quixote. I’m really excited. So it’s all that business of funding now.

So he answered the question with "yeah." Does this mean that Depp's schedule opened up and he is willing to reprise his role in Gilliam's second attempt to make this movie? That would be very cool if he did.

Maybe it has something to do with the possibility of Pirates of the Caribbean 4 not happening. In a recent interview with director Rob Marshall who is supposed to be directing it, he kept saying "If it happens." Disney has dropped three films so far whose to say Pirates isn't next. If it is then Depps schedule would have a big hole in it.

I guess we'll eventually see how this all pans out in the next few months.
