Ryan Reynolds opens up about DEADPOOL and GREEN LANTERN Movies

Ryan Reynolds is prepping up to shoot his next film, The Green Lantern and I know that most of you are pretty excited about that, as am I. Reynolds is a great actor and I can't wait to see what he ends up doing with the character. As for Deadpool, it's still in the early stages of development, we still have no official word on who is writing the script, but word broke recently that it might end up being the same two guys that wrote Zombieland.

Ryan Reynolds recently talked to MTV and answered a few questions regarding both comic book movies he is going to star in. And as of right now he still has yet to try on a Deadpool costume:

No, there's no Deadpool suit that I've tried on.

But it sure seems like he is having a fun time playing with the character, and shares a few things.

I've told Fox already that the only way there's ever gong to be a 'Deadpool' trailer is if Deadpool makes his own trailer. He needs to be talking to the movie audience ... with the movie trailer voice: 'In a world... gone mad... one man... must stand alone...

How awesome would a trailer like that be!? It's perfect. As for bringing the story together, that seems a little more challenging.

You want to find the best version of what's in the comic books, but like a lot of [characters], Deadpool has one of the more inconsistent narratives. It's tough, because the series has been dropped and reopened so many times. You really have to pick and choose so many of the best elements and cobble those together and create the movie of your dreams. Oddly enough, I think the suit is the easiest task. It's such a cool-looking suit, too. It's just deciding on the material and stuff, but that comes into play once you get a script.

I never really had any doubt that Reynolds could pull off two major comic book character but many fans have had doubts, his response to the doubters:

There's such a vast difference between the characters, and I think people forget that I'm an actor. These are roles that just happened to fall under the umbrella of the comic book universe. I think there was some concern that I would make Green Lantern some kind of wise-cracking Wade Wilson-type, and that's not the case at all. If that's what they wanted, why would I have screen-tested for the movie?

He goes on to admit that playing two big comic book superheroes is stretching his acting abilities in ways he never imagined, and the fact that he is able to play these two iconic characters is its own reward.

With the 'Deadpool' role, I've had a take on that for close to eight years now. You want to talk about gratifying? The fact that this is even being considered as a franchise right now is truly one of the highlights of my entire career. When you've wanted something this long and this badly, to have someone say, 'Yeah, we'll make it,' is a pretty amazing moment.

I have a feeling we are going to be happy with both films regardless of how FOX screwed up Wolverine. Reynolds has taken a very heavy role in bringing the story to the big screen, it's his dream project and I don't think he will let anyone come in and F it up.
