I just got an e-mail from a friend that included an interesting link to the blog of Thomas Dobly. For those of you who don't know who Thomas Dolby is, he's a musician best known for his his 1982 hit single "She Blinded Me With Science,"  he also wrote the theme song to Howard the Duck in 1986.

In a recent blog entry he talks about a trip he took to Tiburon, CA in the San Francisco area where he met with one of his friends and former collaborator Paul Sebastien whose worked for Xbox, Playstation, and now currently LucasArts.

Here is what he said in his blog:

Last night he was telling me a little about the forthcoming Star Wars-related TV show, movie and online games—very cool indeed. I’m not a huge fan myself (and definitely not a gamer) but it sounds like Mr Lucas has got his head into a good place. I met him several times when I was working on a movie in the 80s called [name suppressed to protect credibility!] and he’s a decent chap, but I could have done without the last three SW movies.

Hold on a second! Did he just say forthcoming movie? Why, I believe he did. We knew about the TV Show and games, but the rumblings of a new Star Wars movie have been discussed and debunked a few times. Yet here is someone currently working at Lucasfilm talking about a new potential movie. Why would he talk about it if nothing was being worked on? I seriously wouldn't doubt that a new Star Wars film idea is being at least discussed over on the ranch.

Lucas is a guy that can pretty much do what he wants, when he wants and if he is playing around with the idea of making a new Star Wars film then awesome! I understand the last three films were kind of let down, Revenge of the Sith was the best of the three. But I still can't help but get a excited over the possibility of a new Star Wars film. Who knows, maybe Lucas wont direct it.

What do you think about the possibility of a new Star Wars film?
