JONAH HEX Going Back for Reshoots... with a different Director?
Is the Jimmy Hayward directed Jonah Hex movie going back for reshoots with another director? Warner Bros. is currently prepping a few additional weeks of shooting for the Jonah Hex comic book flick. According to a source at Blood-Disgusting the original director of the film is being replaced by director Francis Lawrence for the reshoots. Lawrence is the man behind such films as I Am Legend and Constantine.
There is no solid confirmation to this news so it is a rumor for now. It's not uncommon for a film to go back and do some reshoots, that is a common practice in Hollywood. What isn't a common practice is having someone else come in to direct those reshoots. I find that very interesting.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this film turns out. I am a big fan of Westerns and if done right, Jonah Hex could end up being pretty freaking awesome. The film has a great cast which includes Josh Brolin, John Malkovich, Megan Fox, Will Arnett and Michael Shannon.
Jonah Woodson Hex is a fictional character, a Western comic book antihero created by writer John Albano and artist Tony DeZuniga and published by DC Comics. The right side of his face is horribly scarred. He was an officer for the Confederacy during the American Civil War, fought at Gettysburg and is normally shown wearing a tattered Confederate States Army jacket. Hex is surly and cynical, but bound by a personal code of honor to protect and avenge the innocent and is in many ways similar to Clint Eastwood's Man with No Name or The Outlaw Josey Wales.
