If there is a comic book, no matter what it is chances are it will eventually get picked up by a studio and made into a movie. So all you future filmmakers of the world start working on your comic book ideas because that's your chance to get into Hollywood and make your movie. I don't think studios are reading scripts anymore. It looks like the most latest comic book to be adapted is Josh Howard's 'Dead@17', which comes from Viper Comics.

This news comes from an interview with Howard over at Comics on Comics. He says that Paramount Pictures Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is developing the project. They have also brought in screenwriter Mike Dougherty to write the movie. Dougherty has written 'X-Men 2', 'Superman Returns', and 'Trick 'r Treat' which I heard was a great horror film, but it still has yet to be released. Its getting the 'Fanboy' treatment.

And the best part is the project is being developed as a staring vehicle for 'High School Musicals' very own Vanessa Hudgens. Wait for it... huh? No applause? Figured.

'Dead@17' is about the a girl named Nara Kilday who is killed and then mysteriously reborn to fight demons. She discovers that she has to prevent the coming of Bolabogg, a demonic lord. This series also introduces Hazy Foss, her best friend, and Elijah, who Nara has a crush on. The three fight hordes of undead and other monstrosities and attempt to banish Bolabogg back to his realm. It sounds like it could be pretty fun. My only hang up with the whole thing is Vanessa Hudgens, can she even act?
