David Fincher has been attached to direct this 'Torso' film project for some time now. But last month news hit that Paramount Pictures let the rights to Bendis' graphic novel lapse and that the film was in possible jeopardy of not getting made.  Although it is true that the rights to the novel have yet to be picked back up, producer Bill Mechanic told MTV News that the adaptation of Brain Michael Bendis' graphic novel 'Torso' is still moving forward, with or with out Paramount Pictures and that David Fincher is still attached to direct.

"We want them to make the movie and I think they want to make it. Cool heads will prevail and hopefully it'll get started pretty quickly. If they don't make it, somebody will. I'm focused on making the picture."

Mechanic goes on to explain that the issue of the rights of the graphic novel are more complicated than just the expired deadline. He also made it known that Paramount Pictures is still his first choice as the studio he wants to make the film with.

I hope it all works out, this is a movie I really want to see get made.
