SUPERMAN/BATMAN: PUBLIC ENEMIES Animated Movie

by Joey Paur

I am a huge fan of animation, I love the art form, I grew up with it around me and it is exciting every time Marvel Animation or Warner Bros. Animation announces and releases a new Animated film to DVD. Today it was announced that Warner Bros DC Animation is currently in production on a film based on Jeff Loeb and Ed McGuinness' comic book series 'Superman/Batman: Public Enemies'. This should turn out to be a pretty fun story. I only wish that Warner Bros. and DC would actually play with their animation styles a little bit. Bruce Timm is executive producer on the project which means most likely this movie will end up looking like every other animated production that comes out of Warner Bros. They seem to have a cookie cutter style going on over there. If you have seen the Marvel stuff you can see that each feature has a different look and style to it which is cool.

Here is the official synopsis of the movie:

United States President Lex Luthor uses the oncoming trajectory of a kryptonite asteroid to frame Superman and declare a $1 billion bounty on the heads of the Man of Steel and his "partner in crime" Batman. Super heroes and super villains alike launch a relentless pursuit of Superman and Batman, who must unite - and recruit super help - to stave off the action-packed onslaught, stop the asteroid, and uncover Luthor's devious plot to take command of far more than North America.

No matter what the animation looks like I hope they get a good story together because the 'Justice League: A New Frontier' movie was ridiculously all over the place. The movie is going to be rated PG-13 and will be released Fall 2009.
