ASTRO BOY Promo Poster

by Joey Paur

There really doesn't seem to be a lot of excitement behind Summit Entertainment's new CGI film 'Astro Boy'. We have seen a few images from the film that look cool. A nice little teaser film clip, and we have heard about the drama that unfolded around Imagi Studios when they ran out of money. Everything looks good, but how good do you think it will really be? I am excited to see it, but at the same time I think the movie is going to flop at the box office. There is just something about that isn't going to connect with a very big audience. That's my impression anyway. I would like it to succeed! But I just don't know. I'm not even sure how big is the Astro Boy fan base? I have seen the original animated series but was never really that impressed by it. This movie looks much better, but does it have what it takes to bring in an audience. You tell me.

'Astro Boy'

"Astro Boy" - which is set to hit theaters on October 23 - follows the adventures of a young-yet-powerful robot who, in the hopes of winning his inventor-father's heart, sets off on a quest to rid the world of evil. However, he soon discovers that his home, Metro City, stands on the brink of destruction, and it is up to him to save the day as well as his friends and family.
