First Look Photo for DISTRICT 9
The teaser trailer for 'District 9' was supposed be shown with 'Crank 2' this weekend but it obviously didn't happen unfortunately. But we do have out first look at the movie thanks to Entertainment Weekly. The photo below is of the character Wikus played by Sharlto Copley. The character is a Multi-national agent who becomes infected by alien biotechnology. He must go on the run from the oppressive government into 'District 9', a internment camp where non-humans have been forced to live since landing on Earth nearly 30 years ago.
'District 9' is is being directed by Neill Blomkamp and produced by Petter Jackson. This is the team that was suppose to bring HALO to the big screen but unfortunately that didn't work out due to money issues. But fortunately they created an original Sci-fi film based on the short film by Blomkamp called 'Alive in Joburg'. I am pretty excited for this movie.
The movie is about An extraterrestrial race forced to live in slum-like conditions in Johannesburg, South Africa suddenly find a kindred spirit in a government agent that is exposed to their mysterious biotechnology.
