Warner Bros. to develop Epic film based on the Legendary Greek King ODYSSEUS

by Joey Paur

Warner Bros. recently won a bidding war with Paramount Pictures for a new spec script called 'Odysseus' written by Ann Peacock, and Jonathan Liebesman is attached to direct the film. He hasn't really done anything this epic he made 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning', 'The Killing Room', and is currently working on 'Battle: Los Angeles'. I really hope he can pull off the epic scale that 'Odysseus' needs to be.

The movie will be a retelling of Homer's poem that follows the legendary hero Odysseus the famed king of Ithaca  who returns to his kingdom after 20 years of fighting in the Trojan Wars. Upon his return he finds his kingdom under the brutal occupation of an invading force. Odysseus being the superhero that he is single-handedly defeats every last man and takes back his wife, his son, and his kingdom.

I have one word for you... Awesome.

Warner Bros. kind of has a fetish for these types of movies, the also did '300', 'Clash of the Titans' remake, and they also did 'Troy'. As long as they give this movie the production quality it needs this film could be insanely epic. It is being described as '300' meets 'Taken'.

I love these kinds of films, so yeah, I can't wait to see this story go to the big screen. What do you all think?
