Lets Talk about a Maskless Michael Myers in HALLOWEEN 2

by Joey Paur

First mistake Rob Zombie made was to give pure evil a human name. What I mean by this is that Michael Myers should not have been given a reason or background to tell us why he kills people. It took the scare factor out of the equation. What made him so scary in the original film is the unknown, now that we know, he is just a regular guy with a sad upbringing. That's not creepy. The second mistake Rob Zombie is making is he gave Michael Myers a face. We showed you an image not too long ago from the set of Rob Zombies Halloween 2 that looks like this:

This my friends is Micheal Meyers that guy that is suppose to be walking around in a classic William Shatner mask killing people. When I first saw this I thought, "OK, it just one scene from the movie, or the guy is just on a break, he'll put the mask on when they starts filming again." Yeah well, I should think again because now STYD is reporting that Michael meyers will spend 70% of the movie walking around killing people WITHOUT HIS MASK. What!? This movie isn't even going to resemble the Halloween horror films anymore.

Make-up FX artist on the film Wayne Toth has this to say:

"That's Michael's new look for a lot of the film. Fans will be shocked. They seem pretty responsive to it. But it's like anything else, as long as you're doing something cool, people get it."

But it's not cool! It's totally lame! He goes on to talk about the several different versions of the mask that will be used in the remaining 30% of the film.

"There are a couple different versions of the mask, but none of them are the same mask from the first film. He wanted to take them a step further, even though one of them is basically supposed to be the last mask. We've changed it anyway. Then towards the end of the film is the current version of the mask which is a lot different from any of them we've seen. People are going to be surprised when they see it. It's going to thrown the Myers fans for a loop."

So Michael Myers cares about what his mask looks like so much that he is constantly changing it and making it different throughout the film? You want to know what would throw me for a loop and surprise me? Is if Myers actually runs accross Willaim Shatner in the movie, tears off his face and puts it on. Thats about the only thing that will throw me for a loop.

So. What are your thoughts on what Rob Zombie is doing with H2?
