Observe and Report Review

This review was long overdue. Mr. Black and I watched it maybe a month and a half or two months ago and finally here it is!

Observe and Report was the funniest movie I've seen this year BUT that's not saying much because I haven't seen many comedies this year unless you count the laughable "He's just not that into you" (whether that movie was meant as a comedy or a "self-help" movie is up to your discretion).

The movie is about a mall cop called Ronnie Bernhardt (Seth Rogen) who takes his job way too seriously. He works with a few other mall cops, one of them his right hand man Dennis who is played by Michael Pena, and together they all try to maintain peace in the mall. Hilarity ensues when Ronnie and his mall cop buddies come across someone terrorizing the mall patrons. Enter Ray Liotta's character, the hard ass Detective Harrison who is there after the incident to take over the investigation at the mall and this displeases Ronnie as you can probably guess. The plot is pretty predictable and simple and the acting is mediocre. The stand out character for sure in this whole movie is Anna Faris' character, Brandi: Ronnie's dream girl that works behind the make-up counter. Faris is really underrated as a comedic actress... well that's a pretty bold statement considering I've only seen her in this movie, but i will say this: I will definitely go out and rent "House Bunny" now.

So if you have nothing else that intrigues you as far as movie watching goes this weekend (I know you're all dying to see that bloody Hannah Montana movie), I guess check it out. I give it a B-/C+

Might I suggest you all take a peek at Adventureland, which I know came out last weekend, but if you haven't seen it, check it out. I'm still waiting for Venkman's review on it.

peace
