Toshiaki Nakazawa 'THIRTEEN ASSASSINS' Movie is Good to Go

by Joey Paur

We have another samurai that is going into development. The movie is called 'Thirteen Assassins' and it is a remake of a Eiichi Kudo's 1963 film. The remake of this movie will be directed by Toshiaki Nakazawa who is a well know Japanese director that has directed such classic cult films as 'Audition', 'Dead or Alive', 'Ichi the Killer', and the original 'One Missed Call'. Audition was one hell of a crazy ass movie. the guy has a insane imagination and I am curious to see how it translates into a film like this. I don't think you can go wrong.

The story is set  in the shogun era and follows 13 assassins who come together for a suicide mission to kill an evil lord.

Producers Jeremy Thomas and Toshiaki Nakazawa are coming together to fund and produce the project. Nakazawa produced this year's foreign language film and Oscar winner 'Departure's', and Thomas produced Bernardo Bertolucci's 'The Last Emperor', which won Best Picture. So we have a pretty solid team working on getting the project made. I can't wait to see how this ends up. Will it be better than 'Ronin 47'?
