THOR Casting is in the final Stages
From the very beginning I thought that Kenneth Branagh was the perfect director to bring Marvel's The Mighty Thor to the big screen. I just think the vision he has for this is going to be epic and that it will blow us away. The question still remains who will play Thor? There are a hand full of people in this world that know the answer to that question. The problem is, they wont tell us! Instead they tell us where they are in the casting process and talk about pleasing the fans. So here is director Kenneth Branagh doing just that.
“We’re down to the final stages of it. The reason one has to be properly diplomatic, is simply that some talented peopled have been patient, kind, creative and really committed to working with us in this process.”
“My reluctance to say anything about it is simply out of respect for people who have been extremely respectful of us. That said, I think we are extremely close and I hope to announce a decision sooner rather than later.”
I understand what he is saying and where he is coming from... I think? Maybe I can just imagine that I understand. Fact of the matter is the announcement is coming. When asked about the qualities that would make a perfect Thor, he goes on to talk about how the decision comes from a very large group of people.
“There’s a massive fan base out there of devotees, enthusiasts and real experts who have all the answers to that. All I can say is that I bare all of that in mind with my Thor education. I read a couple of comics across the years every day, I read the Norse legends and sagas, and [the lead role] needs to have something from all that’s great in the comics and the legends, and needs to live in our film universe.”
Yes. He then says:
“It’s a whole series of things that I could list, but I’m not going to, because I’d have to kill you,”
We all know he's not going to kill anybody. He's just foolin. As you know there are a few names of actors that are up for the role of Thor. When Branagh was asked about that he said:
“I am aware of certain campaigns, and I think everyone is grateful for them and knows that there is a great anticipation. We have every intention of doing everything humanly possible to live up to that anticipation.”
Branagh is doing everything right so far. The most important thing is he is listening to the fans of the comics. He is taking all of these opinions into account when making these decisions. At least he says he is.
