Taylor Kitsch gets even More Excited for GAMBIT Spin-Off after he finds out Wolverine 2 is Happening

As you know by now Deadpool will get a spin off movie, and Wolverine will get his Japanese sequel. We are still waiting to see if FOX moves forward with a Gambit movie, but actor Taylor Kitsch is pretty excited about it. He recently gave an interview up at Cannes and it was during this interview that he heard for the first time that Wolverine was getting a sequel. The guy obviously does not read any movie bogs. But this news got him all pumped up about gambit and he went off saying:

"Man, good on Hugh for doing that to his body again. I hadn't heard that was going to happen! You have my brain going now about what I'd love to do with Gambit!"

I wonder if he really has a say in what a Gambit movie will entail. the guy is a decent actor but he is not as big as Hugh Jackman or Ryan Reynolds. Even Jackman didn't get to realize his vision for Wolverine! Kitsch goes on to say:

"I'm just excited to go deeper into Gambit. It's a flattering thing when people say that the only shitty part about the character is we didn't see enough of him. If that's the case, bring it on. I want to go deep into Gambit. He has so many more colours to explore. I want to go dark with that cat. There are so many things I want people to see of him and he really is his own deal. In Wolverine he was very much moving the story along. If I can have some moments where you go deeper into Gambit's back-story and why he was the way he was at that poker table that's a fun thing to explore."

I seriously doubt that FOX will let him go dark. It would be nice! But, they don't seem to dwell on the dark side of comic book characters. He would like to bring on the action though.

"I have the tools now to do some larger fights and I'd be really excited to get a chance to do that, too. I have so many ideas in my mind right now!"

I'm just curious, what kind of tools is he talking about? I liked Gambit in the movie and I would love to see a decent spin-off movie. I am sure it is only a matter of time before we get the news that it will get made.

Anyone care to share their thoughts on the matter?
