DIE HARD Prequel Is On it's Way in the form of a Comic Book
Well this is interesting. Usually we are reporting about comic books being adapted into movies but here we are telling you that a movie is being adapted into a comic book prequel for 'Die Hard'. The comic will follow rookie cop John McClane 10 years before the events of the first movie 'Die Hard'. Here is the official description of the book:
America's greatest action hero is translated into the sequential art form for the first time! Every great action hero got started somewhere. Batman Began. Bond had his Casino Royale. And for John McClane, more than a decade before the first Die Hard movie, he's just another rookie cop, an East Coast guy working on earning his badge in New York City during 1976's Bicentennial celebration... and the Summer of Sam. Too bad for John McClane, nothing's ever that easy.
So from the very beginning John McClane was always at the wrong place at the wrong time. The comic is being written by Howard Chaykin and the art work was done by Stephen Thompson. The cover art you see with this article was done by Dave Johnson, Jock and John Paul Leon. The comic book will hit the street in August.
This will work fine as a comic book I don't think there are going to be many complaints about it. However, this may be the first step to rebooting the 'Die Hard' franchise without Bruce Willis. I guess we'll have to wait and see. With all of the remakes, re-imagining, and and reboots I don't find it hard to believe that it will eventually happen.
