Well, it's official, 20th Century FOX has officially started development on the Deadpool spin-off movie. This is something we all wanted to see as much as I thought the 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' sucked, Deadpool Wade Wilson was the best part. I'm not sure how well a Deadpool spin-off film can be at this point since Fox jacked up the character by giving him all of those mutant powers. At the end of some of the Wolverine movie prints you get to see that Deadpool is still alive. Fox knew they were going to develop and Wolverine sequel and a Deadpool spin-off, based on the two different ending they attached at the end of the movie.

It's no secret that Deadpool is one of my favorite characters, and for many of you he is one of your favorites as well from the X-Men universe. If you don't know much about who Deadpool is from the comic books Click Here, Marvel gives a great in depth view of who this character is and how he is really supposed to be portrayed. For example one of the main reasons that Wade Wilson found out that he had contracted cancer. In Canada, he was offered hope in the form of Department K, a special weapons development branch of the Canadian government. Wilson became a test subject in Department K's branch of the joint U.S./Canadian superhuman enhancement project, the Weapon X Program; his cancer was temporarily arrested via the implantation of a healing factor derived from another Department K agent, the mutant adventurer Wolverine. From this alteration experiment he was made into an indestructible anti-hero.

Ryan Reynolds is the perfect actor to play this character, I only hope that they can build a decent story around him. There is a ton of stuff to work with, but just look at how Wolverine ended up. Yes, Reynolds will reprise his role as Wade Wilson A.K.A. Deadpool. So at least we have that to look forward to.

As a producer on the film I really hope Marvel jumps in the production in a big way to make sure this movie gets steered in the right direction. What do all of you think? As awesome as Deadpool is, are you still excited to see it even though Fox will be making it?
