Looks Like We Will Get a Kick Ass Sequel to KICK-ASS

by Joey Paur

I am very much looking forward to the new film based off of Mark Millar's comic book 'Kick-Ass'. It is being directed by Mathew Vaughn and is currently in post-production. I am loving the comic book series and I can't wait to see how it has been translated to the big screen. I have loved everything I have seen so far from the production photos, like the settings and costumes. It looks great! Now it looks like we can expect to see a sequel.

Kick-Ass follows the adventures of a Dave Lizewski, a Manhattan teenager who goes out at night and patrols the city as a costumed superhero. The comic book is so blood soaked and violent that when you open it up to read, blood comes gushing out into your lap. Perhaps the movie will implement that and have blood gush out of the movie screen and onto the audience. Millar has said the movie will be equally hard-hitting, which is great news!

In an interview with Scifiwire Millar explains how much he was involved with this film, from costume design, set design, and editing. The writer of the comic book itself says the movie is coming together the way they want it to.

Millar also wrote the hit movie 'Wanted' which made $350 million. He thinks Kick-Ass is going to be even bigger. Wow! That my friends is a bold statement. But I think he's right. Once people finally see what Kick-Ass is going to be, if they have not read the comic book, they are going to be blown away.

As for the 'Kick-Ass' sequel Millars Says:

Kick-Ass 2 is already being plotted out. We're planning it, because all the actors are quite young and we have to make it relatively quickly. So we'll definitely do that inside the next 18 to 24 months.

Cool beans, they are jumping right into it! The investors must love the hell out of what they are seeing from the first movie.

If you have not read the comic book I suggest you go get caught up. Because it speaks to the geek in all of us.

From what you have seen from the movie, or if you have been reading the comic book, what are your thoughts on the movie?
