Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg make a great team when it comes to bringing history to life for all of us to watch. It all started with 'Saving Private Ryan' and from there they did the incredible HBO series 'Band of Brothers' which is one of the best mini series ever created. Now they are going to follow-up with a new mini-series based on World War II called 'The Pacific' and it looks like it is going to be the same caliber of filmmaking we saw with 'Band of Brothers'. A new trailer for the series was released recently and it looks absolutely fantastic.

'The Pacific' is a 10-part mini-series which tells the story of three Marines named Robert Leckie, Eugene Sledge, and John Basilone as they battle it out with the Japanese in the Pacific during World War II.

The extraordinary experiences of these men and their fellow Marines take them from the first clash with the Japanese in the haunted jungles of Guadalcanal, through the impenetrable rain forests of Cape Gloucester, across the blasted coral strongholds of Peleliu, up the black sand terraces of Iwo Jima, through the killing fields of Okinawa, to the triumphant, yet uneasy, return home after V-J Day.”

The series was developed on a budget of $200 million! It was also shot on location in Australia.

Check out the new trailer for the show below and let us know what you think! Did you like 'Band of Brothers'? Are you a fan of what Spielberg and Hanks have done with the history of WWII?

'The Pacific' is set air in March of 2010.
