Superman/Batman: Public Enemies

The animated comic book stories are going to continue to role in. I am one of those geeks that have really been enjoying watching the animated films that Marvel and DC/WB have been pumping out. I tend to lean more on the Marvel side of these animated features but the DC/WB stuff is still fun to watch. Marvel has gotta a couple more films under their belt such as 'Thor: Tales of Asgaurd' and 'Planet Hulk'. DC/WB also have two more films prepping up for a release which include ' Green Lantern: First Flight' which looks like it could be their best film so far and the also have 'Superman/Batman: Public Enemies' which is the movie we are going to talk about today.

'Superman/Batman: Public Enemies' is based off of the Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness comic book. In the story Superman and Batman are framed by Lex Luthor who is the Presiden of the United States, for the arrival of an oncoming Kryptonite asteroid. The two superheroes go on the run and get help from their other superhero pals to uncover the dastardly plot that Luthor has set in motion.

Superman/Batman: Public Enemies

All the classic voice actors return to fill the shoes of the classic characters. Kevin Conroy has returned to bring to life the Dark Knight once again with in my opinion the best Batman portrayal ever. Tim Daly is back to play the Man of Steel he voiced the character during the 90's TV series. And the awesome Clancy Brown will come back to voice the villain Lex Luthor he has done the voice for both the Batman and Superman animated series.

Directing this animated film is a guy by the name of Sam Liu who recently directed the 'Hulk Vs. Thor' portion of Marvel's 'Hulk Vs.' double feature. So he went from Marvel to DC that can't be good. Perhaps he will bring some of that nice Marvel animation style with him. Of course Bruce Timm is the producer on the project.

The strait to DVD animated film is set to hit the street on September 29, 2009. I am sure we will get to see something from it up at Comic-Con this year.

Are you excited for this new 'Superman/Batman: Public Enemies' film? What are your thoughts on DC/WB animated movies.
