Here is a bit more Marvel Movie news to wet your whistle. Marvel President Kevin Feige also had some stuff to say about the new upcoming Marvel movies that we are all so damned excited about! You know the ones, Thor, Captain America, and The Avengers.

Thor is the movie I am most looking forward to right now. 'Iron Man 2' is going to be incredible. But there has been a lot of news about Thor recently. With all of the casting announcements, it's fresh on the excitement level. First of all, Feige says that Donald Blake will not be involved with this Thor movie. And that the story will be set here on Earth or Midgard, instead of taking place in the world of Asgard. Which is a bit of news that I am struggling with because I really wanted to see Asgard come to life on the big screen. He says it will be "very much a Marvel superhero movie." I guess they just want to set it in the Marvel film world they have created, to make the transition into The Avengers movie smoother. As for the casting of Chris Hemsworth as Thor he says, there was no question and the people involved with the film couldn't take [their] eyes off of him. The Marvel movie universe will expand more around Thor and that their may be an extensive crossover between Asgard and Midgard.

The next movie that is currently in pre-development is 'The First Avenger: Captain America'. The movie won't go into production until the middle of next year. But, the plan is to start casting the movie this summer. Feige says that the Cap has to be an American. But he then kind of gives an explanation of why that will be a hard thing to do.

"I do think that's something that we'll take into account, international appeal. There are only a handful of stars that mean anything here much less overseas. But I do think that will be a factor in it."

So are they really going to limit themselves on who they choose, to just international superstars? Look at the casting for Thor. They are all actors that are just starting out. Why can't they do that with the Cap? He also says, that the rumor about Will Smith being up for the role of Captain America wasn't really a rumor at all. He says that Smith is probably one of those international stars. Should be interesting to see how this one turns out. I'm excited regardless because it will take place in WWII and Joe Johnston is set to direct.

Then there is the long awaited Avengers film. They are pretty much just getting started on the story with this bad boy. They are bringing in Zak Penn who wrote 'The Incredible Hulk' to work on the outline. Feige says:

"It'll have a much more massive global feel to it. The Avengers is about saving the world because there's no other reason for characters that powerful to band together. So I think the scope and the scale will feel like a much bigger thing."

And yes this movie will get a much bigger budget than the other films so the story will be able to be told on the most epic scale ever! I hope anyway. Then there is the question of who will be the villain, we've heard The Hulk might come back as a villain in which Feige says:

"I'd like to see The Hulk again. It will have been a number of years, four years since he was in a movie by that point, by 2012. So I'd like to see him in it. I'm not being coy."

He then expands on what the villain needs to be like for the movie, that it'll be big. "It'll be something that no single hero can handle". We will also see another character popping up in other movies, such as Sam Jackson and Scarlett Johansson, who are already signed on.

So, it sounds like everything is on track with Marvel. As long as they tell us a good story with some great action and fun special effects, then we've got nothing to worry about. I trust marvel with their classic characters, I just don't see how or why they would screw it up. So now that you are up to speed on all things Marvel, what is going on in that great big brain of yours?
