2012 Panel

They showed the trailer that was release online eariler.

On the panel was Director Roland Emmerich.

Originally The director wanted to do a Noah's Ark type flood film, but when he and his partner started talking about it, the story of what could potentially happen in 2012, they thought they would combine the two stories.

They just showed us a scene from the film and it looked amazing.  The graphics were outstanding and the action was perfect.  The scene shows John Cusack trying to save hie ex-wife, kids and ex-wife's new man from the destruction of LA.  I don't want to give too much away so I will just let you know that it was great.

I feel this is one of the only true horror films.  Monsters and boogymen are considered to be the "scary genre" staples.  For me, however, the movie where potentially real things could happen freak me out.  The thought of all of this really happening in 2012 really messes with your mind.  In the name of all that is holy... I hope this doesn't happen.

Emmrich says that this will be his last disaster movie.  When asked what he would like to do next he said that he would like to take on Issac Asimov's Foundation.  I am not sure if he is the one to do this film but I am happy that someone is thinking about bringing this great story to us.

With the actors who are involved in this film and the effects that we have seen, this movie potentially will do well.  Let us know what you think.
