I don't know about you, but The Lorax is one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books.  Before we get into all of my personal information about this, let me give you the facts.

Variety reported that Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment will be bringing us The Lorax in 3D CG glory.  This film will be co-directed by Chris Renaud and Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio.  Paul & Daurio will be responsible for penning this film.

This movie is set to be released on March 2nd, 2012.  This just happens to be the birthday of one Theodor Suess Geisel.  Dr. Suess passed away in 1991.

I am extremely excited for this news.  I love the story of The Lorax.  My wife and I read this to my daughter and I feel that every child should have the opportunity know this story.

This story rings true to this day.  For those of you who are not familiar with Dr. Suess need to get your heads out of the sand.  Here is a synopsis for you:

Though published in 1971, "The Lorax" has a timely "green" theme. It is narrated by a greedy entrepreneur who, despite warnings from the tree-loving Lorax, strips a forest of its stock of Truffula trees to manufacture clothing. The results are catastrophic as all the animals leave and nothing's left.

I hope they stay as true to the story as possible.  It is a very emotional story and very true to how we are now a days.  We never stop to think about what we do today effects those around us.  Enough of this deep stuff.  I am truly excited to see this film brought to us.  I will keep you all informed of anything that come out on this.  Until then, let me know what you think.
